Building new posts

Building posts is the core part of SoSha - these are the ready-made content that your community will share. Follow these steps to craft engaging, shareable posts for your community.

1. Start a New Post
   1. Click ‘+ New Post’ 
   2. Choose the platforms you want your community to share to. Supported platforms include X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, Instagram, Whatsapp, TikTok, Bluesky, and all apps on mobile devices. 
   3. Key Tip: Tailor the copy for each platform to match what performs best. Optimized variations can significantly increase shares. 
2. Add Post Elements some text
   1. Add your post’s text: 
      1. Write in the voice of your target audience to encourage sharing. 
      2. Include a clear call to action (e.g., click, sign a petition, or donate).
      3. Key Tip: Use double brackets to add fill-in-the-blank prompts (e.g., “I’m so proud to support this cause because [[Enter your own reason here]]”).
      4. Keep an eye on the character count in the bottom right of the textbox. This will alert you if a post is too long to comply with selected social media platform character counts.  
   2. Visuals: 
      1. Upload photos, videos, or GIFs or enable the ‘Sharer Captured Media’ feature for users to add their own visuals.
      2. Visual Requirements: 
         • For Images: 
           1. Supported file types: JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF, WebP
           2. Max. file size: 20 MB
           3. Max. width/height: 4096 px
         • For Videos:
           1. Supported file types: MP4, MOV, AVI, FLV, WebM
           2. Max. file size: 256 MB
           3. Max. width/height: 3840 px
           4. Max. duration: 5 min
           5. Max. framerate: 60 fps
           6. Max. video bitrate: 200 Mbps
           7. Max. audio bitrate: 512 kbps
         • For GIFs:
           1. Max. file size: 50 MB
           2. Max. width/height: 4096 px
           3. Max. duration: 30 sec
      3. Best Practices when Uploading Visuals
         • Use vertical images for Stories and TikTok (9x16).
         • Create graphics with faces for better engagement.
         • Let users upload their own media with prompts or overlays: some text
           1. Select photo or video upload. 
           2. Select if you want instructions to help guide your sharer in what to do. Enter information you’d like to provide before they capture the content. some text
              1. Instructions: Text that is displayed to users before they capture the media. 
              2. Prompt: Text that is displayed while users are recording a video.
           3. Select media format or upload camera overlay imagesome text
              1. Select how you want the media to display when shared (i.e. in a square or 9x16 for stories.)
              2. Camera Overlay: Upload a PNG or GIF image with transparency that will be displayed over the sharer's photo or video. Their camera will be activated when they click share on a post. Transparent areas in the overlay will show their photo.
3. Add a Link Caption: Write a caption that encourages clicks (e.g., “Learn More!”) 
4. Add a Links: Add links in the ‘Link’ field for better tracking. some text
   1. When you add an image and a link, the image will turn into the link preview. 
5. Finalize your post: Once all elements are added, review your post before saving as a draft or publishing the post.
